MAFCU is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, as are all credit unions. MAFCU's Board meets monthly to develop strategic intiatives for the Credit Union as well as review policies and procedures. MAFCU Board members represent a range of affiliates and organizations throughout Greater Boston.

Joan C. Kuhn
Chair of the Board
Director, Human Resources, Partners Home Care and Partners Private Care
Joan C. Kuhn has been a MAFCU Board Director since 1976 and Board Chair since 1990. For more than thirty years, she held human resources management positions at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, including Vice President of Human Resources. Kuhn currently serves as Director of Human Resources for Partners Home Care and Partners Private Care. She has a BA from Northeastern University.
Holli G. Roth
Vice Chair of the Board and Chair, Board Governance Committee
Vice President, Administration and Finance, and Chief Financial Officer, MASCO
Holli G. Roth has been a senior financial officer at MASCO since 1993, and Chief Financial Officer since 1996. Roth joined the MAFCU Board of Directors in 2001 and was named Vice Chair in May 2006. She has a BA from Middlebury College and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Kevin P. Leonard
Treasurer
Vice President, Finance, Signature Healthcare
Kevin Leonard is Vice President, Finance, at Signature Healthcare. Previously, he had been Controller at Children’s Hospital for more than ten years, and before that had served as Controller at Beth Israel Hospital for twenty years. Leonard joined the MAFCU Board in 1988 and has served as Treasurer for much of his Board tenure. He has a BS in Accountancy from Bentley College and an MBA from Suffolk University.
Cathy D. Miles
Secretary/Clerk
Cathy D. Miles has been on the MAFCU Board since 1988. She has served on many MAFCU Board committees, including serving as Secretary/Clerk since 1998. Miles worked at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Partners Healthcare for seventeen years, holding management positions in Finance and Human Resources. She has a BA in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.
Laurie H. Appleby
Chair, Credit and Collections Committee
Nurse Practitioner, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
Laurie Appleby, RN, C, has nearly thirty years experience in healthcare as a nurse practitioner and staff nurse. She is currently Nurse Practitioner at the Lank Center for Genitourinary Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Appleby has a BS in Nursing from Northeastern University and an MS in Primary Care Nursing from Simmons College. She has been on the MAFCU Board since 1993 and has served as Chair of the Collection Committee since 1995.
Marilyn Cerniglia
Chair, Nominating Committee
Manager, Benefits, Lahey Clinic
Marilyn Cerniglia has been Benefits Manager at Lahey Clinic since 2002. Her prior experience includes management positions at Fidelity Investments, Partners Health Care, and Brigham and Women's Hospital. Cerniglia has been on the MAFCU Board since 1983, and has served as Chair of the Credit Committee. She currently is Chair of the Nominating Committee. She also serves on the Business Development, and Planning and Budget Committees. She has a B.Ed. from the University of Miami.
Christine F. Collins
Chair, Business Development Committee
Director, Patient Access Services, Brigham and Women’s Hospital
Christine Collins, Director of Patient Access Services, is a long-time employee of Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She is the recipient of numerous professional awards and has held various Board positions for local and national professional associations. Collins has been on the MAFCU Board since 1981 and has served on several Board committees. She currently serves as Chair of the Investment Committee.
Yvonne Macrae
Senior Budget Coordinator-Manager/Systems Administrator, Boston Public Schools
Yvonne Macrae has served in her current role at Boston Public Schools since 1999. She has held numerous Board positions for several different organizations. Macrae has a BSc from Lesley University and an MBA from Simmons College, and is adjunct faculty at Northeastern University's School of Professional and Continuing Studies. She joined the MAFCU Board in May 2006.
Geradine A. Mahoney
Chair, Supervisory Committee
Senior Associate Director, Athletics, Harvard University
For nearly two decades, Geradine Mahoney has provided financial strategy and business planning to healthcare and academic organizations. Prior to joining Harvard, where she oversees the finance and support operations for the Department of Athletics, she held positions at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Deloitte & Touche. Mahoney joined the MAFCU Board in 1999. She has chaired the Investment Committee and now heads the Supervisory Committee. She holds a BS in Accountancy from Bentley College.

Cara A. Babachicos
Chief Information Officer, Partners Continuing Care
Cara A. Babachicos has more than 20 years of experience in Information Systems. In her current position, she is responsible for the management and oversight of the Information Technology and Strategy for Partners Home Care, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, Rehabilitation Hospital of the Cape and Islands, Shaughnessy-Kaplan Rehabilitation Hospital, and the Partners Long Term Care Facilities. Babachicos received an undergraduate degree in Management from Boston College and a Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of New Hampshire.
Keith A. Marcotte
Vice President for Research Administration, Brigham and Women’s Hospital (retired)
Keith A. Marcotte retired from Brigham and Women's Hospital in 2003 after 33 year of service, including his tenure as Vice President, Research Administration, from 1988 to 2003. Marcotte served on MAFCU’s Board from 1974 to 1987, and was Chairman of the Board from 1978 to 1984. He has been on the Supervisory Committee since 2004. In addition, he has held various Board positions for non-profit organizations and professional associations. Marcotte has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and Physics from Hope College.
James A. Webber, Jr.
Administrator, Brigham and Women’s Hospital
James A. Webber, Jr., has been an Administrator at Brigham and Women’s Hospital since 1981, and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a major research laboratory in the Department of Anesthesia. Webber served on the MAFCU Board from 1997 until May 2006 when he joined the Supervisory Committee. He has a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts.
