MAFCU has partnered with Attorney John Carleen to offer Elder Care and Estate Planning Services for members. Attorney Carleen, a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys with more than 30 years of experience in elder law issues, is available to assist members with a wide range of elder law issues including:

- Applying for Social Security and Medicaid
- Drafting Trusts to protect assets
- Guardianships for the elderly
- Planning for Medicaid and Medicare
- Assistance in planning for nursing home placement

- A Will, which creates an estate distribution plan
- Power of Attorney, which facilitates administration of assets duringperiod of disability
- Health Care Proxy, which directs medical care during periods of disability
